Patta and Joe Freshgoods

Patta and Joe Freshgoods come together again, building on a previous collaboration that brought a pop-up barbershop and nail salon to life in Vegas. They now join forces for “PattaGoods,” their first-ever capsule collection, uniting two independent, Black-owned brands that have long spoken the same language.

“PattaGoods” is the product of a mutual love for the environments both brands came from: block parties, record stores, rec centers and the everyday spaces where people gather and grow. That history comes through in the campaign; The Soul Children of Chicago youth gospel choir founded by Dr. Walt Whitman performs “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” adding a sense of pride, memory and hope to the project. Both lookbook and video were shot on the historic South Side of Chicago at the First Presbyterian Church, bringing the collection back to a place rooted in learning, expression and togetherness.

The visuals pull inspiration from ’70s youth centers and vintage community graphics, giving the collection an a familiar yet authentic feel. The capsule includes straightforward staples such as a varsity jacket, tees, mesh jerseys, denim, jogging pants, caps and long-sleeves.

“Me and the Patta team been talking forever about what it looks like to create something that is not about product first,”says Joe Freshgoods.“ This is really about bridging Chicago and Amsterdam, two places that shaped who we are creatively. We wanted to make something that feels familiar but new, something people experience, not just buy. Being a part of history matters to me. Joe Freshgoods is a Chicago based designer and storyteller known for work across apparel, footwear, and culture driven activations. His practice centers Black experiences, nostalgia, and neighborhood history through color, installation, and community programming. He is widely recognized for his ongoing partnership with New Balance and his multi-city concept space, the JFG Rec Center.
